3/4S

Hello and welcome to 3/4S!

I am Mrs Wright and I teach in year 3/4S. Our wonderful teaching assistant is Mrs Birch, who works in our class every morning and helps support all the children.

Throughout the year, we learn about three influential characters, who the children love learning about and we instil their love of learning through practical activities, investigations, research and role-play. Our topics range from the Stone Age people, where we study Bear Grylls, through to The Tudors where we focus on Elizabeth I and Ancient Greece where we look in detail at Zeus, God of sky and thunder. We read books every day during silent reading time or during our lessons – we read at every possible opportunity! Making maths fun in year 3/4 is what it is all about – the more fun can have, the better the learning! We love practical investigations and love problem solving.

We always try to work together as a class to make sure that everyone in our class feels respected and included. We follow our school rules of ready, respectful and safe. We support our class mates and show kindness and encouragement to each other. We really are an amazing team!

I am looking forward to teaching your child very much and becoming part of the year 3/4 family. We help and support each other and liaise well with parents. If there are any problems, please drop me a message on class dojo or catch me at the end of the day. I am friendly and welcoming so ask away!
