School Council Mission Statement

Our School Council wants to share our ideas and feelings and create opportunities for everyone to enjoy.

We will look after our school and spread kindness and happiness, making Elton a safe place for everyone.

At the beginning of each academic year, Elton’s school councillors are chosen.

Each child is given the opportunity to vote for the person in their class, that they would like to be the class representative.

At Elton we believe young children should have a say. A school council is a way for the children to have a voice on issues which affect their lives.

Playground Markings Project

The councillors first major task was to help Mrs Collopy decide on new playground markings. After looking at and discussing the possibilities, the councillors did a fantastic job of presenting the ideas to their classes. The classes then voted for their favourite ideas, which really helped Mrs Collopy with the final choice.
