Sports Funding 2017-2018
All schools receive additional sports funding to enhance their Physical Education provision and provide wider opportunities for children.
Our allocation for the 2017-2018 academic year totals £18,560 and this money is used to enhance the Physical Education provision in school.
All children in school are involved in a wide range of additional activities including;
This year we are employing SC Education Limited to provide additional PE support within school. Sessions are allocated to classes on a rota basis.
Fencing coaching is being provided to children in Upper Key Stage Two during the Autumn Term.
Elton staff work alongside the sports coaches during the delivery of the sessions. We feel that this provides maximum value for money and will improve the overall long-term quality of sports provision.
The additional support is designed to:
- improve outcomes for pupils
- support/improve subject knowledge of teachers
- increase staff confidence
- support staff with accurate assessment of pupils
Our annual Year Five and Year Six Outdoor and Adventurous Activities trip to the PGL Centre at Boreatton Park will take place in March.
Year Four children are being involved in an Outdoor and Adventurous Activities trip to the PGL Centre at Winmarleigh Hall in November.
Swimming provision will continue for all children in Year Three and Year Four. Children take part in an intensive swimming programme where they go swimming every day for a fixed period. Children in Year Three will take part for two weeks in the Summer Term. Year Four children will access the same provision for four weeks in the Spring Term.
All children will take part in the annual Run/Jog/Walk in June.
