Sports Funding 2018-2019
All schools receive additional sports funding to enhance their Physical Education provision and provide wider opportunities for children.
Our allocation for the 2018-2019 academic year totals £18,560 and this money is used to enhance the Physical Education provision in school.
All children in school are involved in a wide range of additional activities including;
This year we are employing Fun Time Sports Limited to provide both additional PE support within school and extra-curricular activities. Sessions are allocated to classes on a rota basis. Club Tekkerz are also providing football and multi-skills sessions for EYFS.
Elton staff work alongside the sports coaches during the delivery of the sessions to enable staff to develop their skills and improve sport delivery across the school. We feel that this provides maximum value for money and will improve the overall long-term quality of sports provision.
The additional support is designed to:
- improve outcomes for pupils
- support/improve subject knowledge of teachers
- increase staff confidence
- support staff with accurate assessment of pupils
Our annual Year Six Outdoor and Adventurous Activities trip to Waddow Hall Centre will take place in July 2019.
Swimming provision will continue for all children in Year Three and Year Four on a two-yearrolling programme. Children take part in an intensive swimming programme where they go swimming every day for a fixed period. Children in Year Six will take part in a top-up scheme in the Summer Term.
All children will take part in the annual Run/Jog/Walk in June.
